Festival Program Descriptions

Visual Arts Exhibition
Approximately 125 juried and invited artists from across the state, region and country will be selected by a distinguished panel of jurors for participation in the festival. These artists exhibit and sell their original art work. The art on display will span a variety of mediums, including painting, clay, sculpture, photography, print making, pastels, drawing, wood, jewelry, metalwork, glass, art to wear and mixed media. More than $10,000 in cash prizes is awarded to participating artists.

Performing Arts
Entertainment plays a prominent role at the festival. The Arts Festival will showcase an array of performing artists from Missouri who represent both mainstream and progressive styles.

The St. Charles County Symphony will perform on Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at the Foundry Art Centre, 520 North Main Center, as a part of the festival.

Mentor Me
The 2006 Eleventh Annual Mentor Me had 21 area schools participate in this program. The purpose is to recognize the art teachers, students and school districts that create an environment to help their students develop and nurture their skills in the arts. A call for entry will be sent in March to schools in the St. Charles/St. Louis regional area. Teachers and students are invited to participate and showcase their works of art. Each art teacher is asked to select two student's art work; and in the spirit of "Mentor Me" each art teacher is exhibiting one recent piece of their own art work.

The “Mentor Me” exhibition will be held September 19 through October 12 at the Foundry Art Center located at 520 North Main Centre.

Mosaics cordially invites the participating teachers, students and family members to the presentation of certificates during the closing reception October 12, 1 - 3 pm. Certificates will be awarded at 2 pm

Children's Village - Located at Foundry Art Centre
The Children's Village has something for the younger set at the Festival as well. Children attending the festival are invited to visit our special place where kids of all ages can learn about and try their hand at art. Mosaics provides the supplies necessary for them to create their own souvenir of their visit to the Mosaics, Missouri's Festival of the Arts.

Organized by the Foundry Art Centre with supervision by professional artists and experienced art teachers for a hands-on experience. Adding Adventure to Adventure

Art for Youth Gallery
Mosaics in partnership with Lindenwood University will setup a gallery for young patrons. Young patrons under 18 will be able to purchase original art for a nominal amount during Mosaics Festival for the Arts. Young patrons will be admitted to the Gallery without adults. Artists participating in the festival and other area artists will be asked to donate original art for this area. New! The proceeds of Art for Youth will be set up as a fund for Art In Classes. This is for area teachers to request funding for art materials to be used in the classrooms.
